Choose Cozi if…
- Anyone in your family uses Android. This is the big one. Somiya is iPhone-only today, and a family organizer that half your family can't open is not an organizer.
- You want a free option and can live with ads and a one-month view. Free and imperfect beats paid and unused.
- You need the web app on a laptop during the working day.
- You want the safe, long-established choice. We launched in July 2026. Cozi has been doing this since before the iPad existed, and that counts for something real.
Choose Somiya if…
- The 30-day limit is the thing that broke it for you and you'd rather pay once for the whole family than lose your year.
- You want the calendar quiet. No ads, no upsell while you're typing a grocery item.
- Where your data lives matters to you — EU hosting, encryption, and no using your family's calendar to train AI models.
- You want to be able to leave. Export and delete are in the app, not behind a support ticket. We think that should be table stakes, and the state of this category suggests it isn't.
The price question, straight
Somiya costs more than Cozi Gold — €59.99 a year against $39. We're not going to argue you into thinking that's cheap. What the difference buys is a calendar with no advertising in it, hosted in the EU, with no cap on how far ahead you can look and no per-person upsell for the rest of your family. If that's not worth the difference to you, Cozi Gold is a perfectly good product and you should take it.
Moving over
If you do switch, take your calendar with you first. It's free and takes about five minutes, though Cozi makes it less obvious than it should be — there's no export button, just a per-member link buried in the website.
