Leaving Cozi? See your whole year again.
Most people arrive here after the same evening: you open the family calendar to check something in three months, and it isn't there. Cozi's free plan shows about a month ahead, and the rest of your year is behind Cozi Gold.
If you're thinking about moving, here is everything you need, including the parts that don't flatter us.
Your calendar can come with you
It takes about five minutes and costs nothing, but it isn't one tap and we're not going to pretend it is. Cozi has no export button — it has a link, buried in the website, one per family member. We wrote the whole route down after doing it ourselves:

Somiya reads the file, shows you exactly what will land before anything changes, and gives you 30 minutes to undo the whole import if it looks wrong.
The lists have no export at all — send a screenshot
The calendar is the part with a file behind it. Shopping lists and to-dos aren't: Cozi doesn't export them in any form, and it isn't alone in that. This is where most moves quietly stall, somewhere between "I'll retype it later" and never.
So Somiya doesn't ask for a file. Open the list wherever it lives now, take a screenshot, and send the picture — it reads the items off it, works out whether they're shopping or tasks, and shows you the lot before anything is saved. The same 30-minute undo applies. Pasted text works too, and so does whatever file another app happened to give you. The one thing it won't do is open a link to a board somewhere: send the content, not the address.
What you get
- No limit on how far ahead you can look. Next March is just next March.
- No ads. Not on any plan, not ever — a family calendar shouldn't be an advertising surface.
- One subscription for the whole family — up to 8 members, not per person.
- Encrypted, hosted in the EU, and your calendar is never used to train AI models.
- You can leave. Export or delete everything from Settings → Account, any time, without emailing anyone.
What it costs, plainly
€9.99 a month, or €59.99 a year for the whole family. 14-day free trial. Cancel from your phone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions, two taps, no retention call and no form.
To be straight with you: Cozi Gold is cheaper — $39 a year, per Cozi's own pricing page. If price is the deciding factor, it wins, and we'd rather you knew that here than found out after installing.
Where Somiya isn't the right answer yet
- Somiya is iPhone-only today. If someone in your family is on Android, Cozi covers them and we don't. That's the honest dealbreaker, and it's the most common reason to stay put.
- If your family is happy on Cozi's free plan and never looks more than a month ahead, you don't have a problem to solve. Keep your money.
