Cozi alternatives in 2026

Most people who look for a Cozi alternative have one of three reasons. The free plan now shows only about a month of calendar ahead. The free plan has ads in the middle of your week. Or Cozi Gold went up to $39 a year, and Cozi Max costs $79, so it is time to compare.

Each reason points to a different app. Below are six alternatives — two of them free and already on your phone — with the case where each one is the wrong choice.

Free: the calendar already on your phone

Before you install anything, check what you already have. Apple Family Sharing creates a shared “Family” calendar for everyone in the group. Google family groups do the same for Google accounts, and they work on Android and iPhone. Both are free, have no ads and show no limit on how far ahead you can look.

Pick this if your family used Cozi for the calendar only. Don't pick it if you used Cozi's shopping lists and to-dos: these are calendars only, with no shared to-dos that have an owner and no way to send a reminder to the one person who has to act.

TimeTree

A good shared calendar, with a comment thread on each event. Free with ads. Premium is $4.49 a month or $44.99 a year.

Pick it if the calendar is the whole problem and your family uses both Android and iPhone. Don't pick it if you want lists and chores, or if two parents want Premium: the price is per account, not per family. Somiya vs TimeTree in detail →

FamilyWall

The most features in this category: calendar, lists, tasks, a family messenger, live location, photo albums, budget and meals. Premium is about $44.99 a year and covers the whole circle with no member limit.

Pick it if you want chat and location inside the family app. Don't pick it if you are leaving Cozi to leave the company: FamilyWall and Cozi have the same owner, OurFamilyWizard (In Tandem, US). Somiya vs FamilyWall in detail →

Nori

An AI-first family app from Domus Next Inc.: add things by voice, by photo or by forwarding an email, with meal planning that fills a shopping list. Free, with Plus at $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year. iPhone only.

Pick it if meal planning is part of what you want. Don't pick it if anyone in the family uses Android.

Somiya — us

A shared calendar, shared lists and shared tasks for up to 8 people, with no ads on any plan. A reminder goes to the person assigned, in their own timezone, not only to the person who typed it. Take a photo of a school letter and Somiya proposes the event or the task; you confirm it before anything is saved. The whole app works offline. $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year for the family — $19.99 for your first year — after a 14-day free trial.

Before you leave Cozi: do it in this order

  1. Export the calendar. Cozi has no export button. Each member's calendar has an iCal link on the Cozi website; open it in a browser and it downloads as an .ics file. Step-by-step guide →
  2. Check the file in our free calendar file checker: it shows how many events the file holds and how far ahead the last one is.
  3. Save the lists. Shopping lists and to-dos have no export. Take a screenshot of each list — Somiya can read the items from a screenshot.
  4. Cancel Cozi Gold where you bought it — through Apple for an iPhone purchase, through Google Play for an Android purchase.
  5. Delete the Cozi account last. It deletes the account for the whole family, and after a two-week grace period the data is gone.

Questions

What is the best alternative to Cozi?

It depends on why you are leaving. If the family is on both Android and iPhone, TimeTree or FamilyWall. If you only need a free shared calendar and everyone is on iPhone, the Family calendar that Apple Family Sharing already creates. If you want no ads, reminders that reach the person who has to act, and photo capture, and everyone is on iPhone, Somiya.

Is there a free alternative to Cozi?

Yes. TimeTree and FamilyWall have free plans with ads or limits. Apple Family Sharing and Google family groups both include a shared family calendar at no cost, with no ads, on phones you already own.

Who owns Cozi and FamilyWall?

Both belong to OurFamilyWizard, whose parent company is In Tandem, in the US. FamilyWall was acquired in 2024. Moving from Cozi to FamilyWall changes the app but not the company.

How much is Cozi Gold in 2026?

Cozi Gold is $39 a year for the family and Cozi Max is $79 a year, according to Cozi's own pricing page, checked 28 September 2026.

Will I lose my Cozi calendar if I switch?

Not if you export it first. Cozi has no export button, but each member's calendar has an iCal link on the Cozi website that downloads as an .ics file. Shopping lists and to-dos have no export. Deleting the Cozi account deletes it for the whole family, so export before you delete.
